Antifouling with the power of sound
Antifouling with the power of sound
The BPS technology protects marine surfaces from the effects of biofouling. Our ultrasonic antifouling systems use ultrasound to limit and restrict the ability of microorganisms to attach to surfaces that are exposed to water.
Ultrasonic waves are transmitted through these surfaces to create an ultra-thin layer of high pressure between the protected surface and the surrounding water. This area of high pressure prevents microorganisms from attaching.

What is Ultrasonic Antifouling ?
Ultrasonic power
The ultrasonic waves travel through the hull and create a barrier in the water preventing growth from occurring.
The Ultrasound effect
Ultrasonic antifouling works by using sound waves to physically repel fouling organisms.
The transducers receive the high frequency signals, transforming them into ultrasonic pulses.
Each pulse creates a microscopic shockwave that runs across the hull and drive gear.
These ultrasonic waves work to repel fouling which is contacting the hull and drive surfaces.
